📝 Growing Notes

Table grapes benefit enormously from hyssop, one of the oldest and best-documented grape companions — it attracts pollinators and beneficial insects while reportedly improving grape flavor and health. Garlic and chives deter aphids and Japanese beetles. Black walnut's juglone is highly toxic to grapes and must be avoided entirely.
