The only tropical fruit that produces TWO distinct spices: nutmeg (seed) and mace (aril). Native to Banda Islands, Indonesia , the ONLY place nutmeg grew until the 1800s. Triggered the Dutch to trade Manhattan for the nutmeg island of Run.
