📝 Growing Notes

The old-fashioned cough drop plant , horehound candy was in every grandmother's purse. The leaves are intensely bitter but when boiled with sugar transform into a uniquely pleasant herbal hard candy that genuinely soothes coughs. White, woolly leaves are beautiful in the garden.
